Alfamart opens first Bataan store

Alfamart, the Philippines’ first and only Super Minimart chain, just established its first location in Bataan, namely in Santa Rosa, Pilar.

In view of Alfamart’s objective of reaching 1200 shops by the end of 2021, this additional site is critical to the company’s strategic expansion. Alfamart Philippines COO Harvey Ong noted, “Having a presence in Bataan offers us access to new markets in the western half of Central Luzon.” “As with our previous branches, we aim to serve the people of Santa Rosa, Pilar, and the province of Bataan—to become a part of the community and contribute to its growth,” he said. Two additional outlets are expected to open in Bataan in the near future.

Alfamart creates local employment opportunities, generates rental income for local lessors, consigns local products, and collaborates with small businesses in the community who are looking for retail space, all in keeping with its mission to create ripple effects of opportunity in the communities that it serves. “Our approach has always included the pursuit of mutual and inclusive growth.” Entrepreneurs in the community benefit from our assistance, and we benefit from their knowledge of the local market. And we utilize those lessons to figure out how we can better integrate ourselves into the community,” he said at the end of his speech.

Currently, Alfamart has over 1,100 stores across Metro Manila and Luzon.
